just the same quiz really. looking at the map is too slow. countries on islands, countries surrounding other countries (spain france) countries with lots of borders (Germany, Russia, Austria, Serbia) then greece, ukraine and norway to get the last few

My record is: Madrid, Paris, Berlin, London, Reykjavik, Oslo, Bern, Moscow, Rome, Valetta, Kiev, Belgrade and Athens with 13 cities and only 75 characters. I was able to do it in 12 seconds this way (18 sec left) Anyone found a shorter way?

If you already used Oslo and Kiev then you can switch Moscow with Riga and shave off two more characters.

Also madrid and lisbon are interchangeable but I did lisbon london as it is easier to type from L twice

I was doing a similar list but with Vienna instead of Bern, (Austria has more borders) but obviously Vienna (or Bern or even Vaduz) is only necessary for Liechtenstein

Probably much better methods around, but this worked for me because of the alliteration. Skopje, Sarajevo, Stockholm, Riga, Rome, Reykjavik, Kiev, Madrid, Paris, Berlin, Dublin and Valletta and Bern.

My order varied though. After the aliterations, some big names (dublin flows beter than london, and sort of rhymes with berlin) which leaves you with malta and Liechtenstein. For malta there is only one option, for liechtenstein bern is the shortest.

If you want more alliteration instead of Kiev, Madrid, Paris, Berlin, Dublin and Valletta and Bern. You can also do: Paris, London, Lisbon, Berlin, Bern, Kiev, Valletta

or no bern and use vienna valletta. Or no paris and lisbon and use madrid, monaco. Those will leave Berlin and London solo though, but possibly easier to remember for some.

So you could get: Skopje, Sarajevo, Stockholm, Reykjavik, Riga, Rome, London, Berlin, Madrid, Monaco, Kiev, Vienna, Valletta. Sometimes having a nice flow helps more than having fewer letters imo :)

Turkey touches Bulgaria. But it is considered Asia so Ankara is not a valid answer for this quiz.

OK, can someone explain how I managed to get UK but not Ireland? (NB I was sure I typed in London, but tried it again second time and Ireland was filled in then). Less sure I typed Madrid and didn't get Portugal (again tested this and it worked)

OK, I see Madrid gives you UK (presumably a dubious Gib thing), but that wouldn't explain the absence of Portugal...

For me, the main difficulty is that there are several island-nations that do not border any nation. So one alsways have to go through these regardless.
