Actually, this version of the quiz was created first and has been updated most recently. Additionally, since none of the "Countries with Wild Lions" quizzes have been featured and this version has the most nominations, I feel it is safe to say that this is closest to the "official" version.
I'm nitpicking, but since you've added the new countries, it may be a good idea to go into the answers and/or design grid sections and arrange them alphabetically. Throwing in my nomination either way. Great quiz!
Most people once they run out of answers will start typing out random large countries. India seems like the most obvious first to try. Maybe USA if you assume mountain lion is a lion.
It seems strange that Togo isn't here. Everything else around it is. Especially since both Benin and Ghana have lions, you would expect they are in Togo as well.
well they might not live in the border regions of those countries. Or don't settle for long enough, sometimes these lists include only stable populations, not every sighting.
They don't stop at the border, these countries don't have prides arranged in a grid such that every sq km has at least one lion but then are just blocked at the borders. There are regions throughout the continent where lions are located, little pockets of the historic ranges from before humans limited them to these pockets.
So basically those countries don't have like nature preserves and stuff where the lions can be. And look at the map provided.
1. sloth bears
2. himalayan black bear (or sun bear)
3. asian black bear
4. himalayan brown bear
On the other hand, I know that there have been populations of lions in Turkey and Iran and even south-eastern Europe in the past...
