Nice quiz! what is the criterion for "the most famous portuguese writer"? I would actually say it's Fernando Pessoa, is the one that people learn when they visit Lisbon.
"Prince Henry the Navigator was a central figure in the early days of the Portuguese Empire and in the 15th-century European maritime discoveries and maritime expansion." [Wikipedia]
Either this option was put in jest (and it's not too bad, though it does rubs me the wrong way) or you got your information incorrect. Do you mean "Mário Soares"?
What's your source for the national animal? Because technically Portugal doesn't have a national animal, but it's regarded as the iberian wolf nonetheless. The cock of Barcelos is a national symbol and not a national animal.
To be honest i've probably read it wrong in sites and made confussion with the cock of barcelos, i'll edit to make the right answer the Iberian wolf and change the cock of barcelos for something else, thank you for correcting me!
Too many problems with the translations on this quiz for a feature I fear.
Madeira and the Azores are Autonomous Regions as well as archipelagos, and questions 3 and 7 don't really make sense the way you have phrased them - at the very least you should pluralise archipelago, but I would change it to Autonomous Regions, or Autonomous Archipelagos. Or better still "Which two archipelagos comprise Portugal's Autonomous Regions?" Question 4 misspells Portuguese. The last question would be better as: "With which country does Portugal have the oldest alliance in the world?" or "Portugal has the oldest alliance in the world with which country?"
An armillary sphere is much better known as an astrolabe in English.
Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, there's nothing wrong with your questions themselves really.
No need to apologize, you're just correcting me, i'll edit the archipelagos to autonomous regions as it should be refered to.
The portuguese being misspelled and the armillary sphere is due to myself thinking in my native language (portugues) and didn't really noticed (thanks a lot)
My english is kind of broken so i really appreciate your correction thank you!
Perhaps "Which Portuguese writer has a national day of celebration?"

Thanks for the effort
