I started off thinking it was biggest by population. It would be good to clarify at the top that this is about biggest by land area.

Yes, same. I tried Japan for five letters and was confused before I realised it must be by land area.

I couldn't understand why my answers weren't working until it listed Canada as being bigger than Brazil. Oh! You meant area, not population!
