Damn, when you get zero big countries but get Grenada, Barbados, Luxemburg, Denmark, Benin, Brunei, Albania, Tajikistan, Portugal, San Marino, etc. this game is just a guessing game.

Actually after taking it more than once now it seems maybe Russia is excluded and places like Bahrain and Nauru are favored.

There are a lot more small countries than large countries. If each country only has 1 dot assigned to it then there will be a selection bias toward smaller countries.

I got Russia on my first attempt, so it is definitely not excluded.

Every country does indeed have 1 dot. And the ten biggest alone already make up around half of the land area. Though the countries in the original comment are a bit more on the smaller side than the average take.
