Phantom Thread did not win the Academy Award. It was nominated, but lost to Alexandre Desplat for The Shape of Water.

Also, why not include The Power of the Dog and Licorice Pizza?

Phantom Thread also has nothing to do with Pynchon. I was only able to figure out the answer from the year.
