I think the monetary total of food imports is not the best way of measuring if a country is dependent on imported food - there are plenty of HUGE agricultural producers on this list including some net exporters - USA, Canada, France, Russia, China, India - who I would certainly not classify as dependent on imported food... Surely a better measure would be the %age of self-sufficiency in food or what %age of total food consumption in the country is imported?
