When it says "discounting animal classes" is this referring to the taxonomic rank "class"?

very unique quiz. would echo earlier comment that you really should accept mountain lion, panther, and puma for cougar.

Tried "man" didn't work, never thought to try human, d'oh

I think there should be a caveat that you are including extinct species.

Please accept type-ins for Cougar. The Wikipedia page lists these in the first sentence. The cougar , also called puma, mountain lion, catamount and panther

An interesting quiz. Though I have to say, the 'bear' situation is a bit confusing - I guessed the general 'bear' and really didn't expect the 'polar bear' to be a separate answer option
