*Note for acting first vice premiers - The 3rd National People's Congress lasted from 1964-1975. Since many Vice Premiers before 1966 were purged during the Cultural Revolution, With Lin's death in 1971, by default Chen became the next First ranking Vice Premier. With his death in 1972, by default Li became the next first ranked Vice Premier. When Deng was rehabilitated in 1973, he was promoted back to First Vice Premier a year later. In 2007, with Huang's death, Wu assumed the role of First Vice Premier by default until the 11th National People's Congress began in 2008.
