General Secretaries of the Chinese Communist Party

This is the equivalent of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. From 1943-1982, this position was instead the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. This position is not to be confused with the position of General Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, which was a position formed in 1956 that specifically oversaw work of the Secretariat. That position was later abolished during the Cultural Revolution and brought back briefly in 1978, only to be re-abolished in 1982. For this quiz, the General Secretary from 1943-1982 refers to the Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party
