Paramount leader represents the de-facto leader of China whereas the Head of State refers to the nominal leader of China such as the Emperor or the President
Yellow represents the Qing Dynasty
Orange represents the Beiyang Clique and warlord factions, teal represents the Progressive Party and Research Clique, and purple represents the Communications Clique
Blue represents the Tongmenghui/Kuomintang and Green is the Democratic Progressive Party
Red represents the Chinese Communist Party
