This does not include acting prime ministers or presidents such as Ho Chong in 1960 and Ito Masayoshi in 1980. In 1975, Yen Chia-kan assumed the presidency to serve out the remainder of his predecessor's term following his death. However, he was not actually the true leader of Taiwan. The same is true for South Korea Presidents Yun Po-sun from 1960-1962 and Choi Kyu-hah from 1979-1980. Although they were head of state, the ones listed in this quiz had more actual power than them. The Military rule of the United States of South Korea (1945-1948) and Japan (1945-1952) is not included. Neither is the Soviet rule of North Korea (1945-1948).
