The Union of South Africa was formed on 31 May 1910, uniting four colonies into a dominion with the same status as Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Newfoundland. The Union engaged in an invasion of German South West Africa independent of the UK, took over the invasion of Tanganyika and sent troops to Palestine and the Western Front.

At the end of the war it was rewarded with a mandate over South West Africa (Namibia), which it treated as an integral part of South Africa until 1990.

"The Serbian Army declined severely towards the end of the war, falling from about 420,000[2] at its peak to about 100,000 at the moment of liberation. The Kingdom of Serbia lost more than 1,200,000 inhabitants during the war (both army and civilian losses), which represented over 29% of its overall population and 60% of its male population"

I am surprised that people discuss here about Serbia and Yugoslavia. Little history lesson.

Austira-Hungary attacked Serbia and that is how the World War I started.

By the way, Serbia gave a faighting lesson to them in the first few battles.

Even though the caveat states sovereign states that existed in 1914, I feel that India should have been included here. Although, India was a British colony until 1947, it had some sort of autonomy. The Indian Army was independent of the British Army. More than 70,000 Indian soldiers died in the Great War and not including India in this quiz makes me feel uneasy, rather uncomfortable. India is a founding member of several international organisations, including the League of Nations and the United Nations despite being a colony at that time. So, why is it not included here? Please consider revising.
