I didn't know that Henri Dunant, who was Swiss by birth, later got the French citizenship. Well done!

Calvin is a very tough one! Much better known for being in Switzerland.

Like Gandalf and Stanford the ones I thought were Swiss were French (and the ones I thought were French were either Swiss or Belgian).

Why have you translate Jean to John for Calvin?

Before the last 100-200 years, it was extremely common to translate first names between languages, so anybody that was famous before then entered popular consciousness like that. It's the same with Joan/Jeanne of Arc

I was convinced Zidane was born in Algeria, so I thought he was a nasty red herring. Turns out it was just his parents, not him

One can be born in France but not be French. Example : British actress Emma Watson born in Paris. This quizz should have been named differently.

Well i very cleverly remembered that Antoine Griezmann wasn't born in France, but in fact in Spain.

Except he wasn't. I am 99% sure he grew up in Spain tho

Griezmann grew up in France up until he was 13. Then he went to Spain to train in Real Sociedad.

You may have him mixed up with the Hernandez brothers who were also born in France but moved to Spain when they were 3 and 4 years old

Every place in France has an Avenue Maréchal Foch.
