As Kalbahamut is intimating, you probably need to clarify that you are referring only to urban areas in the US and Canada. Once you do that, I would then suggest that you add San Juan to the list.

Jacksonville (MSA population 1,605,848), Austin (MSA population 2,352,426), Riverside-San Barnardino (MSA population 4,599,839), Raleigh (MSA population 1,547,000), Columbus (MSA population 2,078,725), and Virginia Beach-Norfolk (MSA population 1,799,674) all seem to be missing from this list.

No idea on your source, but I'm positive there are more metro areas in the US and Canada that are bigger than 1.5M and that don't "have" an NBA team. Nashville, Austin, Columbus, Norfolk, Providence, Jacksonville...
