This was a really interesting one. I'm a Welsh speaker so I was curious how Breton compares, and some of the words were very similar (melyn/melen, pump/pemp, etc.).

Strangely, the word for weather (amzer) is very similar to the Welsh word for time (amser). Not sure whether these two are connected and it's maybe a definition that's drifted off in different directions in each Celtic language?

My family is of Breton origin, though sadly I don't speak it - but I remember my favourite crêperie in the Monts d'Arrée which was called "Skeud an Amzer", which I was told could be loosely translated to "the Shadow of Time"... so, maybe you're right?
