I never noticed that the Android versions were going alphabetically.

I never realized how idiotic they are.

It's just names, not like they need to be either unique or "normal." What is the point of them not naming it around sweets?

It's a clever way to remember versions instead of a sequence of numbers.

much better than SbXp-3.5 or whatever.

It's weird that they use proprietary names.

Yeah, surprising they could get away with it. Most are generic, but Froyo, Kit Kat and Oreo are definitely trademarks, which I would think their respective owners would be very interested in protecting.

Froyo is trademarked?

KitKat was a promotional collaboration. I'm sure so was Oreo. Froyo is not a trademark as far as I know. They actually made a few KitKat bars in the shape of the Android robot.

Froyo is not trademarked. It is a common short form of frozen yogurt. Many frozen yogurt companies use it.

Yea, massive free advertising I would thing the companies would sooner pay android than that they would have to pay the companies.

yay I got one point. Never understood people who got excited about operating systems but I guess there are nerds out there for every subject.

Maybe some are just excited about candy ;) and that is the reason they got them? I like how they named them, but I'm the kind of person that does get a new phone until it is completely dead. Or in most cases I get an old one from a family member. My last phone ( really my only new one though still not bought myself, a xmas gift from my father) drowned beginning of this year. And now I have an old one of my dad which doesnt acces internet, it does have a camera but it is 0.3 and only works at bright bright daylight ( often it doesnt and I think huh but it is light! But apparently not light enough.. guess no pictures when it is cloudy..) But hey I can make phonecalls with it. But I do miss the camera I had on my last one though :/

A caveat should probably be added for Android Q and onwards as they no longer use any terms but just letters and numbers now

There's R (Android 11) and S (Android 12)

Q for Queen Cake

R for Red Velvet Cake

S for Snow Cone

I didn't guessed it, I know it :)

Version 10, Q, Queen Cake

Version 11, R, Red Velvet Cake

Version 12, S, Snow Cone

I know this, not guessing :)
