I'm surprised how so few people got Newport. I thought it was a fairly well known place.

There are also about 2 cities in RI, so it was either that or Providence which doesn't start with an N. I was also surprised about that.

My knowledge about RI is admittedly lacking. I got it by randomly guessing names starting with New.

If you want to name your place with an N, just throw New in front of another town's name.

Haight-Ashbury, North Beach, Tenderloin, Chinatown, Russian Hill, Marina, Embarcadero, Castro, South of Market, Telegraph Hill, Pacific Heights, off the top of my head. I lived across the bay so I accept that I know more than average.

My sense is that a few are more well-known than the neighborhoods of most cities, but in the grand scheme, no, which is why its easily the least-guessed answer. San Francisco has more cultural influence than any US city other than NYC or LA, so that gives it just enough notoriety to make this a reasonable question.

Come on, New Iberia's Mardi Gras is almost as well known as that other cities. I think it's worthy of a type in.
