Living in Croatia and I've never heard any of the Bosnians say that Sarajevo is Jerusalem of Europe...

I hadn't heard this before, but I assumed it was sarajevo due to its religious diversity which is something shared with Jerusalem.

A quick google search would tell you that it is indeed compared to Jerusalem.
