Here's an obscure detail that emerged as this quiz was being written: In Spanish, you can only contract Santo (saint) to San if the following name doesn't start with Do or To - hence San Diego, but Santo Domingo. That's to stop pronunciation confusion; otherwise San Domingo would sound like Santo Mingo and confuse people.

Got it in the end, but I don't think "canonizees" is an actual word. Also I missed "inn" which is very annoying!..

For what the Soviets were, I might have tried "moist"...
