The 108 Stars of Destiny of Suikoden III by Picture

The third entry in Konami's JRPG series Suikoden was the first to be released on the PlayStation 2, arriving in 2002. Like the previous two entries, it revolves around recruiting 108 Star of Destiny characters for a cause. However, unlike the first two games, Suikoden III has four characters that the player takes control of throughout the game. Given the move from PS1 to PS2, Suikoden III also became the first Suikoden game to be in full 3D, and the move prompted developers to try and deliver an experience that was both familiarly Suikoden and different from what came before, both in presentation and gameplay. While there is no denying it achieved said goal, it was met with ultimately mixed reviews at the time, and has largely maintained that status (and a loyal cult following) ever since.
