Follow instructions carefully!
1) No country appears more than once
2) To properly complete the quiz you must never write down a country if you're not 100% sure it's the one that goes there!
A: Borderless countries have been greyed out, all other countries are answers
B: Each column contains countries with the same colour as the cell on top (eg column A contains countries that are red on the map)
C: Arrows between cells 'join' bordering countries that are adjacent horizontally, vertically or diagonally
D: Following arrows you can go from any answer to another, excluding the two with orange border
E: ↓↓↓ is used for vertical 'chains' so they can be spotted easily
Note that even without seeing the colour of European micronations the quiz is solvable risking no more than one whammy

Extra type-ins to avoid whammies: GNB for Guinea-Bissau, NGA for Nigeria

Got thrown off by one issue, you have Tajikistan bordering Azerbaijan which I believe is an error.
I have Turkmenistan bordering Azerbaijan, somewhere in the Caspian Sea; similarly Kazakhstan borders Turkmenistan. When I do consider these I try and remember to put a caveat about lake borders being considered.
