Perhaps it has dried up like many lakes in the area, notably the Aral Sea. Don’t know that for sure though.

It used to be a sea inlet in the Netherlands until they dammed it from the North Sea. Then they reclaimed some of the dammed water as land and the rest became two fresh water lakes now called IJsselmeer and Markermeer.

Don't know why quiz creator chose to call it ex-Zuiderzee and not IJsselmeer, though.
