Message Board Recap - November 2025

Welcome to the 15th edition of "Message Board Recap"! Here's some (hopefully) interesting stats about the Message Board for the month of November 2025. This will be similar in format to MasterRocket's September 2024 blog (which I'm treating as the first edition), but not exactly the same.

- A total of 130 threads were made during the month of November 2025, giving an average of 4.33 threads per day.

- The day with the most threads was November 27, with 12 threads.

- The days with the fewest threads were November 15 and 30, with one thread each.

- A total of 61 unique users made at least one thread throughout the month, giving an average of 2.13 threads per user.

- Throughout the month, one user (Quizmaster) made 8 threads, one user (Basaball) made 7 threads, two users made 6 threads each, four users made 5 threads each, and 53 made four or fewer threads each.

The top 6 thread creators made 37 threads in total, or 28.5% of all November 2025 threads.

- All threads in November 2025 were liked 955 times in total, giving an average of 31.8 likes per day, 7.35 likes per thread, and 15.7 likes per unique user.

- The day with the most likes was November 27, with 83 likes.

- The day with the most likes per thread was November 3, with 64 likes and 5 threads, averaging 12.8 likes per thread.

(Non-exact figures are rounded to one decimal place)

The top 6 like-getters received 332 likes in total, or 34.8% of all November 2025 likes.

Now let's look at the top 10 most-liked Message Board threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

Here are the top 10 users with the most total likes year-to-date (through November 30, 2025):

- All threads in November 2025 received 1,401 comments in total, giving an average of 46.7 comments per day, 10.8 comments per thread, and 23.0 comments per unique user.

- The day with the most comments was November 18, with 103 comments.

- The day with the most comments per thread was November 23, with 80 comments and 3 threads, averaging 26.7 comments per thread.

The top 6 comment-getters received 534 comments in total, or 38.1% of all MB comments in November 2025.

Now let's look at the top 10 most commented threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

Here's some other fun facts and stats that I think might be interesting.

The correct way to spell "JetPunk" is to either capitalize both the J and the P, or to capitalize neither. Here's a breakdown of how people did in thread titles:

✅ Both the J and the P were capitalized on 10 occasions;

✅ Neither the J nor the P was capitalized on 1 occasion;

❌ On another 2 occasions, the J was capitalized, but not the P.

Overall, "JetPunk" was correctly spelled on 11 out of 13 occasions, for a score of 85/100.

Here's a look into whether thread titles ended with a punctuation mark, and which ones:

- 38 threads (29.2%) ended in a question mark "?";

- 1 thread (0.8%) ended in a period / full stop ".";

- 4 threads (3.1%) ended in a right parenthesis ")";

- 1 thread (0.8%) ended in a double quotation mark (");

- 7 threads (5.4%) ended in an exclamation mark "!";

- 79 threads (60.8%) did not end in a punctuation mark.

1. Length of Thread Titles

Have you noticed that some threads have much longer titles than others? Here's a look into the length of thread titles:

- All MB thread titles in November 2025 contained 4,105 characters in total (including spaces), for an average of 31.6 chars per title.

- The thread with the longest title was "Why is the border between Canada and Denmark considered invalid?" by jbro, with 64 chars in its title.

- The thread with the shortest title was "Flags" by LuckyCat, with only 5 chars in its title.

2. Capitalization of Thread Titles

Even though they're technically "titles", not everyone on the MB adheres to Title Case in their thread titles. Here's a breakdown:

- 129 threads (99.2%) adhered to Sentence case by starting with a capital letter. Why is it always all but one, can we get a perfect score on this?

- Approximately 50 threads (38.5%) adhered to Title Case. Note that this is an "approximate" figure since there are slight variations in the exact rules of Title Case.
