Message Board Recap - September 2025

Welcome to the 13th edition of "Message Board Recap"! Here's some (hopefully) interesting stats about the Message Board for the month of September 2025. This will be similar in format to MasterRocket's September 2024 blog (which I'm treating as the first edition), but not exactly the same.

- A total of 102 threads were made during the month of September 2025, giving an average of 3.4 threads per day.

- The day with the most threads was September 11, with 7 threads.

- The days with the fewest threads were September 14 and 21, with no threads.

- A total of 51 unique users made at least one thread throughout the month, giving an average of 2 threads per user.

- Throughout the month, one user (MeMeMe333) made 7 threads, one user (Wizzandy) made 6 threads, three users made 5 threads each, four users made 4 threads each, and 42 made three or fewer threads each.

The top 6 thread creators made 32 threads in total, or 31.4% of all September 2025 threads.

- The day with the most likes was September 8, with 49 likes.

- The day with the most likes per thread was September 18, with 26 likes and 2 threads, averaging 13 likes per thread.

The top 6 like-getters received 196 likes in total, or 39.4% of all September 2025 likes.

Now let's look at the top 10 most-liked Message Board threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

Here are the top 10 users with the most total likes year-to-date (through September 30, 2025):

- All threads in September 2025 received 780 comments in total, giving an average of 26 comments per day, 7.65 comments per thread, and 15.3 comments per unique user.

- The day with the most comments was September 6, with 64 comments.

- The day with the most comments per thread was September 2, with 58 comments and 3 threads, averaging 19.3 comments per thread.

The top 6 comment-getters received 337 comments in total, or 43.2% of all MB comments in September 2025.

Now let's look at the top 10 most commented threads (all thread titles are exactly as they appear):

Here's some other fun facts and stats that I think might be interesting.

The correct way to spell "JetPunk" is to either capitalize both the J and the P, or to capitalize neither. Here's a breakdown of how people did in thread titles:

✅ Both the J and the P were capitalized on 3 occasions;

❌ On another 1 occasion, the J was capitalized, but not the P.

Overall, "JetPunk" was correctly spelled on 3 out of 4 occasions, for a score of 75/100.

Here's a look into whether thread titles ended with a punctuation mark, and which ones:

- 1 thread (1.0%) ended in an ellipsis "…";

- 36 threads (35.3%) ended in a question mark "?";

- 3 threads (2.9%) ended in a period / full stop ".";

- 2 threads (2.0%) ended in a right parenthesis ")";

- 1 thread (1.0%) ended in a left parenthesis "(";

- 1 threads (1.0%) ended in an exclamation mark "!";

- 58 threads (56.9%) did not end in a punctuation mark.

1. Length of Thread Titles

Have you noticed that some threads have much longer titles than others? Here's a look into the length of thread titles:

- All MB thread titles in September 2025 contained 3,193 characters in total (including spaces), for an average of 31.3 chars per title.

- Two threads are tied for the longest title: "Any ethnicity or country you would like to know everything about" by teqau and "How can I change my visited map to show only countries (no regio" by Duchti. Both threads have 64 chars in their titles.

--- Again, this is evidence of a 64-character hard limit in MB thread titles.

- The thread with the shortest title was "COP30" by TheBrazilian, with only 5 chars in its title.

2. Capitalization of Thread Titles

Even though they're technically "titles", not everyone on the MB adheres to Title Case in their thread titles. Here's a breakdown:

- 98 threads (96.1%) adhered to Sentence case by starting with a capital letter.

- Approximately 32 threads (31.4%) adhered to Title Case. Note that this is an "approximate" figure since there are slight variations in the exact rules of Title Case.
