Last time...
The final 32 competed in a tournament! The Wild West performed the best and won the prize for today's challenge! On the other hand, New Mexico ended up being the grand loser, meaning that the Avengers were up for elimination! Let's see which of them will be leaving today!
Elimination Time!
Gekko0923: Welcome, Avengers! We received 10 votes this time around! Voters ranked the six of you from best to worst! Whoever has the worst average ranking is eliminated!
Up first, we have Arizona with an average ranking of 3.0!
Arizona: Thanks, but a score of 3.0? The average score is 3.5, so the others must have been really close, right?
Gekko0923: Yes. Virginia received a score of 3.3, while Pennsylvania, who was in last place at one point, gets a score of 3.4.
Pennsylvania: Phew. This team is full of likable states. I wasn't sure if I would make it.
Gekko0923: That leaves us with our bottom 3.
New Mexico, you made your team lose the challenge. You're obviously the odd one out in this team of fan favorites, but was it enough to eliminate you?
New York, you disrespected and targeted New Mexico and have been acting really shady and distrustful towards your team. Will this be your downfall?
Georgia, um..., I don't know why you're in the bottom three. You're safe with a score of 3.5.
It's down to New York and New Mexico. One of you actually tied with Georgia and also got a score of 3.5, while the other is eliminated with a score of 4.3.
New York: It must be New Mexico if the gap is that large, right?
New Mexico: We'll see about that. Maybe it's time for you to pay for always acting entitled.
Gekko0923: The last one safe is...
New Mexico! New York, you're eliminated in 32nd place.
New York: What?!? New Mexico's the one responsible for our loss! He should've gone!
Gekko0923: Sorry, New York, the voters have spoken.

State Lore
Gekko0923: DC, take New York to the Losers' Lounge.
DC: Of course, sir. New York, come with me.
New York: Gekko, wait! I'm not going there! US has captured the guys who were eliminated and they're... they're not doing so we-
DC: SHUT UP! Just because you lost, doesn't mean you have to complain about it.
Gekko0923: Yeah, New York, just accept that you've lost. I have to go host the next challenge.
(DC and New York walk away)
New York: So, you're involved in US' plans, aren't you?
DC: You bet.
New York: But why do it this way? Why not take all of us at once?
DC: Because it would raise public tensions. You see, when Gekko said he would be hosting a reality show involving all the states, US and I saw the perfect opportunity. We took each eliminated state and forced them to comply with our plans, one by one.
New York: But those plans are devastating the states and making them suffer, economically! Do you know how many people moved here after the eliminations of New Jersey and California? There'll be another mass migration again, with my huge population!
DC: It's too late. US is expecting you to join him now.
New York: Why are you helping him? What's in it for you?
DC: He funds me, give me a great public image, those are just the basics.
New York: Gekko will find out about this eventually.
DC: Hahaha! Of course not! To him, I'm just a "quirky, excitable little co-host!" He won't suspect me.
New York: You may say that now, but one day, your facade will fall, and you will regret everything.
DC: Really? Try me.
Meanwhile, back at the Avengers' team cabin...
Virginia: Not gonna lie, I'm glad he's gone.
Georgia: Same. Now I can be the Empire State!
Pennsylvania: Well, he wasn't that ba- GUYS? What is this he left on his bed?
Virginia: Let me see.
Letter written by New York:
Dear fellow Avengers,
In the event that I am eliminated from United States Viewer Voting, I would like to inform you that US isn't who he says he is. Seek Puerto Rico. He'll tell you everything. Use the walkie-talkie to contact him.
Best regards,
New York
Arizona: This is insane.
New Mexico: What do we do? Do we report it to Gekko? Or reach out to Puerto Rico?
Pennsylvania: I don't know. Gekko and/or DC may have something to do with this too.
Virginia: I know DC wouldn't be involved in anything suspicious, and I don't fully trust New York either.
Georgia: But if something serious is happening, we have to do something. New York must have some level of trust with us since he told us about this.
The Challenge
Here's how it works:
1. I will name a category (i.e. States with at least 8 letters)
2. If a state fits that category, it remains in the game for that round.
3. If not, that state is eliminated until the next round begins.
4. Each round, the last state remaining wins safety for their team.
5. The teams that did not win safety must compete in another round.
6. The only team that does not have safety after five rounds is eliminated.
7. The Wild West won the last challenge, so they get a prize. Their prize is that one of their members gets an extra life each round, meaning that if one of the categories does not apply to them, they would still be in the game. They chose Utah to have that prize.
Round 1
Contestants (31):
Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah (x2), Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming
For the first category, let's start with an easy one.
Category 1: States with at least one million people
Remaining (28)
Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah (x2), Virginia, Washington, West Virginia
Category 2: States that voted for Biden in the 2020 election
Remaining (19) (Utah lost his extra life)
Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, Washington
Category 3: Landlocked States
NOTE: By landlocked, I am referring to the states that do not directly touch the Pacific or Atlantic Oceans.
Remaining (9)

So we have our Round 1 Winner! What a turnaround! After New Mexico lost the challenge for his team last episode, he wins first place! This means that the Avengers are safe from elimination this time. For the rest of the teams, they have to keep competing until they win!

Without further ado, the final category is:
Category 5: States that have an average of more than 100 tornadoes per year
Remaining (1)
Texas
Texas wins immunity for the Rebels! Sorry, Outsiders, but you are up for elimination this time around.
The Candidates
The Outsiders are trying to convince you why you shouldn't vote to eliminate them.
Alaska [A]
Pitch: The bigger, the better! Also, my wildlife is fascinating. Don't eliminate me.
Connecticut [B]
Pitch: If you helped us eliminate New York, thank you so much. But, wouldn't it be unfair for two northeastern states to be eliminated back-to-back?
Hawaii [C]
Pitch: Eliminating me is eliminating America's favorite vacation destination!
Oregon [D]
Pitch: Don't eliminate me or my best bro, Washington!
Vermont [E]
Pitch: Try naming one bad thing about me. Stumped? Perhaps spend your votes elsewhere.
Washington [F]
Pitch: I'm the home of many big companies, if you eliminate me, they disappear!
Voting Rules
1. The voting method is VOTE TO ELIMINATE.
2. You may vote up to three times.
3. Voting ends Wednesday, July 24 at 9:00 PM PDT.
4. Help the states out! Try to convince other voters as to why your vote is the most logical.
5. No spam, rude comments, etc.
Connecticut, the Northeast contains some of the most likable states in the whole nation. We need to eliminate them, or else 3 of the final 5 will be New England states. I don't want that.
Oregon, Washington told me why he was worthy of staying. You just defended him. What do you have to offer yourself?
Vermont, there are reasons why you're one of the least populated. Don't use your small size as an excuse. NH and MA are similar in size to you, but at least they have a million people. And yes, I know Alaska also has less than a million, but as he said, his wildlife makes up for it.
there just aint nothing REALLY remarkable abt these states
except Hawaii and Alaska, the rest are somewhat unremarkable. And forestedish
Vermont: can you think of one bad thing about me?
Me: no...
Vermont: can you think of one good thing about me?
Me: also no.
buh-bye!
CT: NOOOOOOOO VERMONT
Me: OK, you can join him
*fires vote gun*
I am too far away from the topic of the states and the relationship between them, so I will not joke.
The cunning Gekko has exposed my favorites! It's a pity, but you have to choose..
Oregon and Washington are definitely not them. They have an incredible nature, which is what I fell in love with in American documentaries. In addition, there are Portland and Seattle, Rocky Mountains, coniferous forests, volcanoes and Canada nearby!
Vermont — I love New England. Solzhenitsyn, although I can't stand him, said that nature here is similar to Russian. Therefore, to vote for a state with small New England towns and a delightful typical American, but at the same time a little close to the heart of nature? No.
Hawaii is too unique to fly out now. I do not know what the social situation is there, so no.
Alaska is the closest state to us! Northern, wild, beautiful. Definitely not.
There remains only Connecticut, it's a pity, it was once one of my favorite states.
My favorites are Florida, Texas, the Carolinas, Colorado, Alaska, and Hawaii.
(I liked Alabama and Tennessee too but they got eliminated before I found out of this series.)
I wanted to save Alaska because it's really unique and has great wildlife.
I wanted to save Hawaii because it's beautiful and has so many great stuff.
I wanted to save Oregon because the beaches there are beautiful.
I wanted Washington to be safe because, well mostly the same reason as Oregon.
I wanted Vermont to be safe because it has really beautiful forests and it's one of the great states in the Northeast.
This leaves Connecticut... I'm sorry Connecticut.
The people voting for Vermont have clearly never been there (or have never listened to Noah Kahan). Connecticut, meanwhile, is a blight on New England.
Right now it's a landslide towards one candidate (take a wild guess) But it's not too late to change your vote.
