Introduction
People sometimes use shorter versions of usernames like Lucky instead of LuckyCat or Gade instead of Gademotsili99. These nicknames happen naturally when usernames are long or when people prefer something easier to say.
I created this list after reviewing comments and posts to identify which abbreviations are used.
Abbreviation Table
Observed Trends
Based on the abbreviations observed in usernames, here are some common patterns people tend to follow when creating nicknames:
First 2 syllables - Many shorten usernames by using the first two syllables of the original name (e.g., Capybarra → Capy).
One word from two-word usernames - When a username has two words, often only one of the words is used as the nickname (e.g., MasterRocket → Rocket).
Initials for multiple words - For usernames with multiple words, initials from each word are frequently used to form an abbreviation (e.g., thegoatisgoaty → TGIG).
Conclusion
This list isn’t official, and it’s definitely not complete. If you go by something else or think someone’s missing, feel free to mention it in the comments. I just thought it would be useful to have a quick reference.
I have been known to shorten my own to YY.
I might started referring to you as YY... or not... it sounds off to me.
It doesn't seem nice in dark mode...
I wonder how people would abbreviate "UnrequitedLove"
And newly upcoming, 'Explosive K' should be my new nickname. Saves letters
