Shining Light on Hidden Gems #5 - Fianchetto

In this series, I will be displaying users who you may or may not know so well, but that I think deserves more credit. This could be that the user has well made quizzes which don't have many plays, or that the user is a great person and should be recognized by more people. Whatever the case may be, I will be talking about it here. This is not an interview, as that would be a direct ripoff of baptistegorce's "Interview of a JetPunker" series, which is not my intention at all. I simply want to spotlight users who I think should be more popular. Enjoy!

I have selected user Fianchetto as my fifth entry in this series because I see potential in his quizzes. He does have 4 Features as of posting this blog, all of them being MCCQs (multiple choice city quizzes, check them out in the link below). However, a lot of his non-Featured quizzes are still great, and I would like for Fianchetto to be my next hidden Gem. While I do not know much about him, that's fine, because highlighting him is all I'm trying to do here.

Fianchetto has around 15,000 takes as of posting this blog, with 4 Featured quizzes that have yet to get on the Front Page. While he will likely get many more takes in a month or two, he does sit at 15k takes with a little over 50 quizzes (63 right now). His most taken quiz isn't even Featured, and this quiz is number 1 on my list below. He's had his account for 2 years, so here is what I think Fianchetto's best quizzes are.

His most played quiz as of posting this blog is Languages That Don't Exist. It isn't Featured, but has racked up just over 3,000 takes. The quiz was spotlighted at least once, and has continued to gain takes slowly. The goal of the quiz is to guess languages that seem like they would be a thing, but aren't. For example, Mexican. Of course Spanish is spoken in Mexico, but the language is sometimes referred to as Mexican, even though Mexican doesn't exist as a language itself. That's to point of the quiz. In my opinion, the quiz is executed nicely, and makes you think about how non-JetPunkers would think (joking). The background color on Dark Mode is slightly annoying, and the format in general could be cleaned up a bit, but other than that, I can see a possible Feature for this quiz.

His Batman... or Batman? quiz is quite funny. The quiz is a Multiple Choice between the superhero Batman and the city, Batman, in the country Turkey. Many of the questions are easy and straightforward, while some are funny, and others are actually difficult. I think the quiz is Feature worthy, but can't say I see it happening.

Biggest "New" US Cities is a very underrated quiz of his. It doesn't even have 50 takes yet, but I think it should have a lot more. I can't get more than 5, but a geography nerd could probably get 10, if not more. I think this is a Feature worthy quiz, as it's simple, yet still poses a challenge. He surely has quizzes just as good as this one, but I see potential here.

This series is exactly what it sounds like. It's a map with U.S. cities that all start with the same letter. You have to guess what the cities are based on their dotted location on the map. So far, Fianchetto has made these quizzes (C, P, S), and made a version of S with exceptions (try it out, it's quite fun). There are already Featured quizzes like these, so I think a Feature for Fianchetto's quizzes here is reasonable and plausible.

Of course, Fianchetto has many other great quizzes which you should check out HERE. Besides user Shannanygans, who has basically 100 total takes, Fianchetto is my most hidden gem of the series so far. He does have 4 Features waiting to be displayed, so he may not be so hidden for much longer. The quizzes above are just my opinion on his best quizzes, so go play them yourself and see!

Fianchetto has only made one blog, being Quizmaster Comments About Belgium. He did collaborate with user McKenzieFam to create the blog Why Does Quizmaster Hate Belgium?. Both of these blogs were received well by the community, and for good reason. Fianchetto's blog lists comments Quizmaster has posted on the site basically hating on Belgium. The list is very funny, and the blog is well made. Being his only blog, I think (and likely all of us think) he did a great job. McKenzieFam made a blog collaborating with Fianchetto on the topic, as an overall analysis of the reason Quizmaster hates Belgium. Go read both blogs, they're great works!

I don't know anything about Fianchetto in the community, and I don't really know anything about Fianchetto in general. I don't know how active he is, nor how active he used to be. But, he's made good progress on JetPunk, so go support him some more.

Well, that wraps up this blog. Overall, I'm just suggesting you support this user. He makes really good content that tends to go unnoticed. Not always, but sometimes.
