Riddle #7

A dead body lies at the bottom of a multistory building. It looks as though they committed suicide by jumping from one of the floors.

When the detective arrives, she goes to the first floor of the building, opens the closed window, and flips a coin towards the floor. She goes to the second floor and does the exact same thing, continuing to do this until she arrives at the top floor of the building.

When she comes back down, the detective states that it was a murder and not a suicide. How does she know?

Riddle #8

11. Vince has a union job and it's damn near impossible to fire him for any reason.
+1
Level 87
Mar 26, 2025
Real guess: the conference was cancelled, so Vince did whatever he wanted. The employer's displeasure stems from the fact of the cancellation, not Vince blowing off work.
+1
Level 68
Mar 26, 2025
That would be a very good alternative answer, but in this case it's incorrect. The conference happened as normal, Vince just didn't attend. You're thinking in the right direction, though

7. The detective knew it was murder because all the windows were closed when she arrived. If the person had jumped out to commit suicide the window would have been open. Since all the windows were shut it suggests someone else closed them after.

#7 All windows are closed, so someone must've closed the window after the dead guy exited.

#8 I dunno about Eurostar trains, but gut feeling tells me it's electric.

#12 fleas?

#15 she was put into a mental institution or old age home.
