Hey Ho Let's Go
Joey Ramone
Joey was initially the drummer for the band and Dee Dee would do vocals, Joey became the singer because Dee Dee couldn't sustain singing for so many live shows (which the Ramones did over 2,000 of) so Joey was switched to vocals.
Johnny Ramone
Johnny's wife Linda was the girlfriend of Joey Ramone, (she was the inspiration for the songs Danny Says and She's a Sensation) she broke up with Joey and started dating and later married Johnny. Some fans have speculated that Johnny "stealing" Joey's girlfriend was the inspiration for the song The KKK Took my Baby Away, although Joey's brother and other sources say the Joey wrote the song BEFORE he learned that Linda was dating Johnny.
Dee Dee Ramone
After Dee Dee left the band in 1989 following their 11th studio album Brain Drain, fans would have to wait until 1995 on the Ramones' last studio album ¡Adios Amigos! on the final track of the album to hear Dee Dee sing again. The third verse of Born to Die in Berlin is entirely in German, and Dee Dee recorded it over the phone.
Tommy Ramone
Tommy was the band's manager and originally that's all he was supposed to be, but after Joey switched to vocals, they needed someone to do the drums. Tommy would show potential drummers what to do, but nobody could do it better than Tommy, so he became the drummer.
Marky Ramone
Marky is the only Ramone to leave and then come back. He was fired after Subterranean Jungle in 1983 for his alcoholism and came back after Richie left and Elvis didn't work out. He made his reappearance on the album Brain Drain in 1989.
Richie Ramone
Richie didn't always go by the name Richie Ramone. He started off his tenure being called Richie Beau, and later changed it to fit with everyone else and became the Richie Ramone we all know today.
Elvis Ramone
Elvis has the shortest tenure of any Ramones member, only lasting two shows. The reason for this was because he couldn't keep up with the pace of the other Ramones.
C.J. Ramone
C.J. like Richie, wasn't always referred to as C.J. Ramone he started off as C.Jay, which makes zero sense, so he changed it to C.J.
