52 Percent?
In the movie Wild in the Streets, Max Frost makes the claim that 52% of the United States population is under 25. I thought I'd do some math, and the results surprised me.
Using an estimate in the year 1968 (when the film was released), around 45.8% of the United States population was under 25, which last I checked, is not 52%. But the story doesn't end here, you see, Wild in the Streets is actually based off of a short story called The Day It All Happened, Baby. Now, The Day It All Happened, Baby was written in 1966 so, theoretically the percentage would be different. In 1966, when the short story was released, 45.9% of the population would have been under 25. Which is not 52%. In short Robert Thom had no idea what he was talking about when he wrote the story.
