On a log scale, a constant growth rate appears as a straight line.

In modern times, it is rare for warfare to cause significant casualties relative to the population of a country. This is a good thing.

If anything, the curve seems to steep upwards slightly in the early 90s and late-2000s, which indicates slight increases in the birth rates after the Gulf War and the Iraq War, respectively.
