JetPunk 2025 - Year in Review
First published: Monday December 22nd, 2025
Overview
Wow. The year of 2025 has just flown by, as we pass the quart-centennial year of the 2000s. Let's explore what JetPunk entailed for us over the year.
This 6th annual edition details the various changes on JetPunk over the year, including highlights from some of the biggest quizzes created this year, users who joined us this year and also the most popular blogs of the year. At the end, we look at the traffic in 2025, and what we might look forward to in 2026.
What's New?
JetPunk throughout 2025 saw some major introductions, as well as continuing on the massive introduction of Sudden Death quizzes late last year.
New Front Page
After almost a decade of JetPunk's front page barely changing structure, the biggest update to it in years came in 2025. We got a complete redesign of the right-hand side, a new slogan and new features to go along with it!
The front page is one of those pages on JetPunk which has almost never seen change. Largely, this is because every time a major change was done, the results were pretty negative.
The first iteration of this came from a redesign test by myself over 5 years ago. Looking back, the look was not great and over prioritised the most-taken quiz of the day.
The second iteration of the new front page came early this year from QM and went... terribly. Traffic dropped and most people hated the new design. It was very big and bulky, with horizontal scrollbars and prioritising pictures over descriptions. But, this design was a very important first step to start a conversation on the topic. (Thread here: Changing the home page?)
After discussions with the community, the new design was shut down and QM got to work. It would be another 2 months until the current design was in place, with most of the left-hand side largely the same, User Spotlights (English only) were moved to the right-hand and now became an option. (See thread here: New front page is live!)
Users suddenly had the flexibility to rearrange the front page to be whatever they wanted. And even better, this option can be customised by language too!
Some stats on the new layout... as of now, 21,910 users have customised the front page from the defaults, that's a lot of users! In fact, that's almost 4% of all users that have logged into JetPunk at all this year! Additionally, according to those who have set custom settings, these are the most popular tiles:
| FP Tile | Total Usage | % of users |
|---|---|---|
| Recommended Quizzes | 21,500 | 98.1% |
| User Spotlight | 21,201 | 96.8% |
| Recent Subscription Quizzes | 20,944 | 95.6% |
| Your Recent Quiz Takes | 20,862 | 95.2% |
| Useful Links | 20,697 | 94.5% |
| Language Selector | 19,252 | 87.9% |
| Greatest Hits | 1,958 | 8.9% |
| New and Reset Quizzes | 1,584 | 7.2% |
| Recent User-Quizzes | 1,012 | 4.6% |
A big caveat to note here is that the bottom 3 are NOT in the defaults, meaning someone might just view the settings and change the order only. Speaking of... the most common to be top is Recommended Quizzes (the default), at 95% of the time! The language selector is the next most common to be the top panel, with 0.7%.
As of writing, there are currently 32 users with no panels set on their front page, and also 310 users with all 9 panels set on their front page. The most common number is of course 6 (the default) followed by 5 and 7.
Bookmarks
As part of the release of the new Front Page, another feature was added too: Bookmarks.
This feature allows you to bookmark any page on the site using the new option from the Menu dropdown, and this will then display in the "Useful Links" tile on the front page. This means if you have a page which you particular like or access regularly, you can now save it and come back to it as often as you need without using your browser's favourites.
Minesweeper
The classic game of Minesweeper. It has already been taken over 5.6 million times, more than any other mini game on JetPunk already, and in fact more than any other quiz this year (except English Countries of the World, currently on 6.4 million).
The minigame has been played by 25,377 registered users, and very likely many more unregistered users as well.
There are daily leaderboards for each of the standard sizes, though of course the Beginner's is the most competitive of them all. That being said, Beginner mode has 1.6m plays, while Intermediate has 680k plays and Expert has a whopping 3.3m plays! It seems Expert is definitely the favourite.
The user's with the most plays across the different game modes currently stands as:
| Beginner | |
|---|---|
| User | Plays |
| cocobaccio | 26,593 |
| Guster | 14,992 |
| stiby52 | 13,764 |
| writerblocs | 12,955 |
| AntiHL1242 | 12,466 |
| Intermediate | |
|---|---|
| User | Plays |
| beforenovember | 24,483 |
| JasON77 | 13,032 |
| Attache | 12,738 |
| megalomaniac | 9,866 |
| writerblocs | 9,835 |
| Expert | |
|---|---|
| User | Plays |
| bdj | 75,367 |
| Abelma | 69,520 |
| xprsest | 48,319 |
| bpg268 | 41,819 |
| Jc1025 | 40,419 |
Unfortunately, due to cheaters, I cannot display the fastest times per game mode, as some have supposedly beaten the game in just 0.02s, which just ruins the fun for everybody. Regardless, some additional stats!
- Out of over 5.6m plays, only 496k are winning games - that's only 8.8%!
- Approximately 21% of Beginner games end in a win
- Approximately 14% of Intermediate games end in a win
- Approximately 1.8% of Expert games end in a win - that's equivalent to less than 1 in 50!
- In fact, more Intermediate games have been won compared to Expert games, despite 5x more Expert games being played
And finally, while the table above outlined the total number of games played per user across all modes, these highlight the most winners. Notice that many of these users are actually different to the most games counterpart above... with "writerblocs" coming in the top 2 for every mode!
| Beginner Wins | ||

Challenge Friends
Ever wanted to send your friend a challenge for a quiz? Multiplayer has been a long-time coming for JetPunk, and this is the best we could come up given our scope.
With JetPunk Challenges, once you have finished a quiz a gold button appears which allows you to create a challenge link and send it to JetPunk friends (or anybody, in fact).
JetPunk friends will then get notified they have received a challenge, and can try to beat your time/score on that quiz.
So far, over 34,500 challenges have been created on JetPunk, with almost 60,000 results having been scored against them!
The biggest challenge of these by far is on the French quiz Pays du Monde, which had a single challenge receive over 14,000 plays! (of which over 13,000 beat the original challenger's score). In fact, almost 9,500 unique quizzes have had challenges created for them - that's more than the number of featured quizzes in English!
See below the table for the quizzes across JetPunk with the most challenges against them!
| Quiz | # Challenges |
|---|---|
| Countries of the World Quiz | 3,240 |
| Pays du Monde | 1,924 |
| เกมทดสอบจังหวัดของประเทศไทย (Thai regions) | 1,213 |
| Länder der Welt Quiz | 859 |
| US States Quiz | 530 |
New Map Quiz Format
For a long time, JetPunkers had asked for a reverse of the existing Map Quiz format. That is, instead of showing you an item on a map and selecting the matching answer, you are shown a specific answer and must select the correct item on the map!
After the release of Click quizzes in 2022, this became even more requested as this was essentially allowing users to add an SVG to a Click quiz. Well now the time is finally here, as uses can create a "Map Quiz 2"! Example:
Click the U.S. State on the Map
This format is brilliantly done, and yet still very underutilised (in my opinion). It is quite simple to create, and can use any of the existing JetPunk SVGs as well.
Here's a breakdown of the total takes by Quiz Type:
| Quiz Type | Total Takes |
|---|---|
| Text Typing Quizzes | 1,131,951,682 |
| Picture Quizzes | 106,044,641 |
| Map Quiz #1 | 43,746,641 |
| Sudden Death | 25,518,793 |
| Multiple Choice | 23,927,709 |
| Click Quizzes | 11,641,158 |
| Map Quiz #2 | 2,471,386 |
| Tile Select | 1,596,074 |
Of course, as might be expected, Text quizzes still dominate and rule. In fact, the English Countries of the World quiz has more total takes that all formats except Text and Picture quizzes.
Despite these major changes, there were many smaller changes that didn't make the cut in this end-of-year review, such as new languages (Romanian and Catalan), the ability to add map labels, flagging on sudden death quizzes as well as the ability for Premium Members to message other users! Thankfully, they're documented on JetPunk's Change Log for you to enjoy.
Top New Quizzes
In 2025, yet again the top 20 was dominated by Sudden Death quizzes, and in particular by one user: Dimby. Dimby managed 8 of the top 20 new quizzes this year. Better yet, Dimby had the top 4 all to himself, and 6 of the top 7!

So far over 132,000 quizzes have been released on JetPunk in 2025, that's just 5,000 more than last year, and these have amounted to over 24.6 million takes! (An increase of 14% over last year's incredible record).
This also represents over 1.8% of all takes on JetPunk ever, or, perhaps more helpfully, about 8.8% of all takes this year! In fact, over 280 million takes have been added this year, or rather 20% of all takes ever, have come from 2025.
Top New Quiztakers
Once again, we will highlight the top quiztakers this year, although the standards have dropped compared to last year, where a user managed to achieve a total level of over 100 in a single year. This time around, the top 3 all managed a level of 77 or above! Which is still very impressive.

Euryken

As we progress, more and more quizzes are featured and so it becomes technically easier to achieve a high level. That said, to dedicate so much playtime to JetPunk every day is a truly incredible feat.
Top New Quizmakers
This year sees the return of the top quizmakers of the year. Once again the top quizmaker this year was actually French!

Minigame Stats
A new section for this year's review blog. Some statistics around the minigames on JetPunk!
U.S. State Puzzle
The ever popular U.S. State Puzzle minigame increased in popularity this year, with over 130,000 plays in 2025.
The record-holder, RandomSportsKid, also improved their record from 43 seconds to just 41 seconds!
Number Factoring Game
The Taxman game continues to gain steady takes throughout the year, reaching over 36,000 plays this year.
Even Split
Perhaps the least popular minigame on JetPunk, as it is one requiring the widest breadth of knowledge. Even Split still managed over 17,500 plays this year. Not great, but better than nothing!
Geography Snap
By far the most popular for the four original minigames (i.e. not Word Search or Minesweeper), Geography Snap remains popular, with over 275,000 plays this year by over 9600 unique users (and probably many more that didn't have an account - as they accounted for roughly 23% of all takes). In total 8.2 million tiles have been matched in 2025!
Five users now have over 1,000,000 tiles matched, with SilverDog in the lead with over 2.2 million tiles matched!
He and Changedaworld also have all of the world records (on Easy anyway), with 27 going to SilverDog and 36 going to Changedaworld, including the elusive "Flags+Countries" Easy Mode, in just 2.88 seconds - an improvement of 0.15 seconds over last year! In fact, this game mode has now been played over 590,000 times alone.
Snap also reached a total since it was created of 60,000,000 total tiles matched.
JetPunk Word Search
This year saw an increase of over 1 million plays across all puzzles, bringing the total takes to 4.17 milion! It also saw the creation of four new puzzles - 2 normal and 2 mega.
The most taken puzzle is still #1 - Rivers with over 38,000 plays! (and increase of 7.5k)
The most taken puzzle that's not on the first page is still #350 - "S" Countries with over 21,000 plays.
There are many puzzles with an average of 100%, but the hardest puzzle remains Mega #27 - Mega Hidden Capitals with just 65.3% of words found on average (down 2% on last year).
Minesweeper
JetPunk's newest game, introduced this year, is highlighted in great detail up at the top of this blog.
Minesweeper has already propelled itself to the top of the leaderboard of the mini games, consistently pulling in more than any other mini game each day. No surprise, given it's such a short and repayable game.
With over 5.6 million plays, I am sure Minesweeper will be a staple on JetPunk for many years.
Overall Stats
Overall, here's a breakdown of the current total takes of all the minigames as of December 21st 2025:
| Minigame | Total Plays |
|---|---|
| Minesweeper | 5,617,192 |
| Word Search | 4,165,741 |
| Geography Snap | 2,046,871 |
| U.S. State Puzzle | 624,505 |
| Taxman | 216,096 |
| Even Split | 121,398 |
Traffic in 2025
Looking back over the traffic of 2025, we can see clear changes in the fluctuations over the year of quizzes created and number of users that joined JetPunk.
Analysing this, we see that the number of users that joined JetPunk doesn't correlate to the number of quizzes released. In fact, the number of quizzes is pretty constant all year as per usual, with the exception of a massive peak in late April. As always the influx of users trends towards school and office time (i.e. anything outside school summer holidays), hence why there's a big dip in new users over summer.
Comparing to 2024 below, there is surprisingly not that big a difference, with the exception of 2024's pre-summer peak.
Looking to 2026
Who knows what might come next year!
As always, in last year's blog some users predicted some things for this year. Let's see how they turned out.
baptistegorce
Prediction: 20 users in the top 100 will be French (currently "only" 12, quite challenging)
Actual: A good challenge on the top 100! Currently the number is 16, with 20 in the top 130!
McKenzieFam
Prediction: At least one new quiz format, A non-Quizmaster or Stewart blog makes it into the top 5, I make it over quizmaker rank #350 at some point in the year, without getting a featured quiz.
Actual: Some pretty good guesses here! We indeed did get a new format, and a non-QM/Stewart blog was 3rd this year... and it was yours! You also did make it past #350, though you do now have some featured MCCQ :)
cathlete
Prediction: For next year I predict that there will be more Polish quizzes featured than English in 2025. There will be a badge in a foreign language for the first time. Catalan will finally be a language available on JetPunk.
Actual: Indeed there was, in fact out of the ~3500 new featured quizzes this year, over ⅓ of them were Polish. A true testament to the translators behind it. While there is no foreign language badge still, Catalan was actually added!
Nickelz
Prediction: I surpass 100,000 takes with under 100 quizzes, 600 blogs will be released in 2025
Actual: You have blown well past 100k, with over 380k takes! However, you do have 107 quizzes, even if your top quiz alone gets you past 100,000. And with over 900 new blogs this year, the 600 prediction was correct (though small)!
Capybara
Prediction: I predict that JetPunk will release a new mini game or quiz mode.
Actual: Correct on both fronts, with Minesweeper and Map Quiz #2.
Noivern
Prediction: The Countries of the World Quiz will reach 45 million takes. Stewart reaches 50 million takes, and QM reaches 500 million.
Actual: Currently it stands at 44,482,000 takes - very very close! Unfortunately I don't think it can make a further 518k takes in just 10 days. Both of the milestones happened for myself and QM, though more importantly I got there first :)
Insaniot
Prediction: Sudden death is the 2nd most-taken quiz type for the year, behind only text quizzes. JetPunk is NOT purchased by Orcspel.
Actual: Well, I don't think Sudden Death could manage it, but I won't have full stats until the Most Taken Quizzes in 2025 blog. Also, I regret to inform that JetPunk was purchased by... nobody!
hi111223
Prediction: Over 300 different users get a question on the Daily Trivia Challenge.
Actual: Very interesting prediction! In fact, of over 25,000 questions submitted this year coming from over 1000 different users, 1408 were chosen to be included, with these coming from 271 unique users. So your guess was very close!
There were a few more predictions, but this was a selection of them. Thanks everybody for making them! Let's see what you come up with for next year :)
What stood out in 2025 to you on JetPunk? What future developments would you like to see in 2026 and beyond? What do you plan to do to improve JetPunk yourself?
All data on this page is correct as of December 21st, 2025. Data from JetPunk.
Great to read through the events of this year. I'm not sure what predictions to make for next year...maybe that no new languages are added (maybe just one??). Maybe another prediction is that 2026's top quiz will not technically be a sudden death quiz, kind of like this year, though it may use whammies.
I got a mention :D
That is indeed my first appearance, 100% in the top 5 leaderboard, and probably just in a YiR Blog in general.
Happy to see all the stats.
Unfortunately (or fortunately?) another year has gone by without any changes to the list of countries or capitals. I suspect this will continue.
I'm always glad to see the site growing. Despite that, however, it hasn't sold out nor lost its character like a lot of others have. Keep up the good work!
I am delighted that the French are still dominating the ranking of new creators, even if my prediction of 20 in the top 100 has not (yet) come true.
What can I predict for 2026...? I think that German speakers may eventually overtake the Polish section in total takes for the year. And to take an even bigger risk, I predict that the nomination system will be abolished and possibly replaced next year.
Thank you again and all the best to everyone for 2026 on our favourite website!
Our dc also got very active this year in comparison to 2024 with 85 members (i think last year we had like 30) and i hope we can grow even more in 2026!
I think what stood out the most to me is how much newer users are contributing to the site. Some users that have only been on here for a few years are part of the fabric of JetPunk now. Plus I noticed QM putting in a concerted effort to feature more quizzes from a variety of quiz makers.
I hope to improve JetPunk by trying to make quizzes that might go viral outside the JetPunk community. I have something in the works that has a small chance to interest an outside community.
(If you ever have Spain projects in mind, they would have a good chance of being a big hit on the Spanish section)
As a prediction, I say a new quiz format will be created as a refined version of what a user (probably Dimby) has created, similar to how Sudden Death came to be.
Thanks for all the stats in the various sections too, they're very enjoyable and might even come in handy for a future project..
Prediction: QM will release more than 10 'small new features' in 2026, something bad will happen on Orcspel, and the site will break down, leading to increased traffic in JetPunk (and making it the number 1 quiz site for some time).
There will be another blog type-era, where people keep making a similar sort of blog (like story blogs, or game blogs etc)
Jetpunk and Orcspel stats

Enjoy the Holidays and a Happy (soon-to-be) New Year.
My prediction for this time around will be: Jetpunk becomes even more popular in metrics than this year by AT LEAST a +25% growth. I do hope for prosperity among my favorite website and communities. Lots of love and happy wishes to all.
Oh, and yes. I got into University and I'm aspiring for my goals, as promised in my previous blogs.
Either that, or the link is wrong.
For next year, I predict that there is a new mass featuring like the MCCQ, and there will be an average of over 100 English user Quizzes made per day.
I predict I will reach 1000 quizzes made and 200,000 takes, no new featured language, 5 new badges added, no change to the world capital or countries quiz, and JetPunk will come closer than every to beating Sporcle in popularity.
Predictions: Dimby takes 3 out of the top 5 quizzes and inspires a new quiz mode.
but seriously theres no problem with playing on mobile
My predictions for 2026 are:
New Minigame with more takes then Wordsearch
No new quiz formats :(
Someone becomes the only person in first on the level ranks
Finally I will pass my munkeyruhnke's daily trivia average
Merry Christmas and have a good year!
And…. Would love a Pin the COTW version of this https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/271570/pin-us-states-on-a-borderless-map-sudden-death. Loved it!
Sincere thanks to Dan and the team for what they've built and committed to.
There will be a new addition to the Sudden Death mode and Sudden Death will at least make it to top 3 of the most taken modes. Also i think german will be top 3 in new featured quizzes and i hope the german site will get more active in total!
Also, I hope there will be less advertisements in 2026
I really hope this turns out true
Future development ideas:
1) random quizzes: give an option to have the answers sorted out alphabetically (or some other way) so that when you are missing just a few you can get a hint from the ones that have been guessed already
2) when you take a quiz, have an option like 'remind me to take this quiz again in two weeks'
3) find a way of simplifying 'interaction' of .svg files (eg if in the answers you had a column specifying the colour of the corresponding shape then this could overwrite the .svg colour without having to write ...)
4) country type-ins: now there's whammies maybe should have a 'standard' set of wtype-ins that take care of Niger/Nigeria etc eg by adding NGA as a type-in
5) Have a different scoring for some quizzes depending on the help you get (eg ABCDE). Eg countries of the world have 'grade E': with map, initials, whammies; 'grade A' without any
How I plan to help jetpunk improve: not sure, I'd be happy to take part in an 'improvements committee' or something?
In 2026, I predict that
I'll get a featured quizJetPunk will surpass two billion total takes and reaches a new record day! I also predict that the IF Group will get over 200 total users! But Happy Christmas !
And Happy new year in a few days
