Both Iran and China had parts of them invaded by the Soviets during WWII, unless that clue refers to the entire country being occupied

I appreciate that the last answer is a country whose name starts with "North."

Incredibly misleading and worse, it is testing your knowledge of JetPunk quizzes rather than geography.

That question should be removed and thrown in the incinerator.

Not sure what 'is considered' a European country by Jetpunk means. Greece is a European country; full stop.

How is it possible that the French land in the south Pacific (New Caledonia, French Polynesia) doesn't make it more southerly than Greece?

1. They're not departments

2. Even if they were, they're not in Europe

The question asks for the southernmost countries that are considered to be European, not the southernmost countries in Europe. This distinction is often used on this site to exclude Asian Russia from quizzes about Asia.

The caveat about overseas regions isn't followed by the quiz itself, as the coordinates given for the US are in Hawaii, not the mainland.

Australia's southernmost point is at the Bishop and Clerk Islets off Macquarie Island, Tasmania at 55⁰03'S. As noted, Macquarie Island is part of the State of Tasmania, and not an overseas territory. This causes issues for both the third and fourth questions.

True, probably not originally considered because it's over water, but it should be changed to that because it's not over sea (the maritime border extends throughout the way to Tasmania) meaning you could easily argue it's not overseas.

Angola actually withdrew its OPEC membership January 1st of this year, so I think the right answer should be the Republic of the Congo instead.

The question is phrased this way so that people don't try to type in Cyprus, Turkey or whatever else they think may count as Europe but isn't considered an European country by jetpunk.

It's because Angola left relatively recently, so I assume Quizmaster was kind enough to still accept it as it's what people remember. Though I think that should be removed by now

Greece should not be the southernmost European country. If we are not counting the French Guyana, Spain's Canary Islands have the same legal status as the rest of the Spanish Communities and should count for the answer.

I had no idea what "is considered a European country by JetPunk" meant, and even more confused by the answer. Is Greece's location in Europe contested by anyone?
