Fredonia AZ is closer to the North Rim than Flagstaff is to South Rim of Grand Canyon. But Fredonia is not a city and probably only those who live (or used to live) nearby would know this.

It's quite wild there are no flamingos elsewhere. They are at least migratory visitors all around the Mediterranean. But it's a different species, maybe the American ones prefer a warmer climate.

It's marginal that flamingos are considered geography, but quite wild that a jail is.

South Texas is now getting flamingos quite regularly. I don't think any are year round residents as of yet. I would guess that within 5 to 10 years there will be a year round population of them. As mentioned above Fredonia is closer to the Grand Canyon than Flagstaff.
