the sonics are not the thunder, the thunder don't even claim the championship the franshise startes in 2008

It's sorta complicated but the way I understand it is until Seattle regains the SuperSonics the Thunder keep the Sonics history, when/if the Seattle SuperSonics are re-established then OKC will relinquish that part of their history.
