Directors of the General Political Department of the PLA

This position was established in 1954. In 1930, the equivalent of this position was formed, being named the Director of the General Political Department of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China. Until 1954, this position was given various names. In 2016, the position was replaced by the Director of the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission. The current director was suspended in 2024 and removed in 2025. As of now, the position is vacant
