The third quiz in a row that includes mammoths. I should probably add them to the islands quiz at this rate. The Tamyr Peninsula of Siberia was probably their last holdout outside of Wrangel and St. Paul Islands, surviving there until the mid-holocene.

While Dromedaries survive as domestic and feral animals, the last truly wild dromedaries died out around 300 BC. All living dromedary camels are domesticated or are descended from one.

Considered adding the wild Domestic Bactrian Camel here. Weirdly enough, genetic evidence shows that wild bactrian camels are not closely related to domesticated bactrian camels, meaning that there is another, extinct species near identical to wild bactrian camels that was domesticated before becoming extinct. Figured one camel was enough.
