Disadvantage of this is that 'being similar' is somewhat subjective. Why include Switzerland/Swaziland or Sao Tome/San Marino, but not Belarus/Russia or Mali/Malawi?

Yes this is subjective, though Saint/San/Sao are the same thing just in different languages. I thought of including Albania/Algeria but it's bit of a stretch.

Bit confusing. I think Algeria sounds similar to Nigeria just as much as Niger does. Paraguay and Uraguay?

How about Ireland and Iceland? Also Gambia, Zambia, Namibia.
